Tim Langton, head of Dispute Resolution at Goodman Derrick, commented:

“We’re very pleased to welcome Stephen to the firm.  His acknowledged expertise in competition law will complement our existing practice and, we hope, enable us to provide an even better service to our clients. Goodman Derrick's "Tate Mo-dern" gallery of Mo-growers

Throughout the month of November, six courageous members of Goodman Derrick have been taken part in "Movember" and have been growing sponsored moustaches in support of prostate cancer charities.  An impressive sum has been raised by the team who have been nobly supported and tolerated by their colleagues and relatives.

As a mo-mento of their acheivement, the Mo-growers assembled for a photo-session, the results of which can be seen here.

We congratulate them for their bristly and mo-mentous efforts.

The latest edition of Chambers, the independent guide to the legal profession, has just been published. Goodman Derrick has been recognized and praised for its expertise and once again the firm appears in the upper rankings.

In the media sector, the firm is acknowledged as "extremely user-friendly, pragmatic and competitive."  The team receives considerable praise for its in-depth knowledge of broadcasting regulation and film classification, and for its client service: "They’re easy-going, accessible and approachable." It represented the ITV minorities and S4C in their respective negotiations with the BBC for the launch of HDTV on Freeview.

As regards client service, Chambers quotes one of our clients who says "We use them because of their personal touch in media – they treat clients individually. They're not complacent or pushy, and they send us a good informative monthly media bulletin."

Chambers notes that Alison Downie, Head of Goodman Derrick’s employment team is “held in the highest regard by commentators. Her commerciality is singled out for particular praise: "With a sound business head, she is outcome-focused and sensitive to the needs of her clients."

The guide also acknowledges other Goodman Derrick practitioners:
