Recruitment Industry Update - Prior to 15 December 2007, an extensive anti-money laundering regime already existed. However, on 15 December 2007, further legislation was introduced by way of the Money Laundering Regulations 2007 (“the Regulations”). They are designed to identify and prevent money laundering and terrorist financing by requiring those persons involved in businesses in which money laundering may occur, to take various actions, including checking the identity of their customers and reporting suspicious activity.
